FanZone

Hello, I am Fan24 and this is the FanZone.

Last week’s race, the Spring National Cup at the KRC National Raceway had a good turn out.  KevinC95, of Team Saucony, was definitely the man to beat this past Sunday leading in five of the ten laps.  He moved up into 8th place (from 17th) on the KRC Season Points leader board with this win. Not only did he win the race, but he was also the biggest mover of the race. He started in the 11th spot put by the end of lap one was in the top four. This victory was not just handed to him, though. Every lap was a challenge as he held off Johny-Nos- and Zhavior, both of Team Adidas. It was a battle through the entire race.  In the end, KevinC95 won by around ½ second over the two Team Adidas drivers.

General_Jed saw early trouble after starting out in the 1st position, to end with a disappointing 9th place.  Fan24 had an early scuffle and quickly found himself in last place but was able to fight back to a 6th place finish.  Also, Team Adidas has 3 drivers place in the top 10 and Jackmouve continues his record breaking streak of last place finishes.

The conclusion of this race brings us a new KRC Points leader. Johnny-Nos- overtakes previous #1 and Leg 1 DOTL, wigleys386, who finished 7th place.

The top 3 now looks like this:    1. Johnny-Nos- (641)     2. Wigley386 (-55)     3. A-Badman-386(-211)

There where five no-shows to the race and A-Badman386 and Outlawbadger64 were in the Qualifying heats but had connection issues getting into the main event.

Our next race is the NASCAR Invitational at the KRC Oval Raceway. The race will be 20 laps with 10 lap heats. The track is .41 miles long and is a reverse NASCAR styled track.  The track has three turns (front is tri-oval). The track will be great for that short track feel. The driving line for your qualifying run will be much different than your race line.  If you are looking for a fast time try to hug the inside of the track. Depending on how you drive, you may be able to hold it full throttle through the second turn but beware of the wall. The KRC Oval Raceway is now available to download from Jackmouve on GT5.

Closer Look: Strategies and Tips for Better Driving

Let’s take a closer look at Driving Lines.  Driving lines are very important, not only for you, but for others as well.  When you choose your driving line, it may be different from others and that is okay.  Always take the line that you can drive best.  Remember to keep a steady line, the driving line you run not only helps you, but helps others to know where you will be running.

If you have suggestions for our weekly Closer Look section, send me your comments.

In other news, the KRC will now starting running sanctioned cup races that will count for points. All you have to do is send the request to Jackmouve at least a week ahead of the date the race will be and have at lease eight KRC registered drivers in the race. Doing this will give some people more opportunities to get points. These races will not be worth as many points as Official Races.

See KRC Point System.

I'm Fan24, stay tuned for the next FanZone with the latest race and circuit recaps.

Good luck out there and good racing!
