How the League Works
VBA 2K10 Custom Player Team Up League
Register:
On NBA 2K10: Draft Combine, create your "My Player". Then go to the Virtual Sportz Center VBA 2K website and register, either as a Free Agent or as a Captain. VBA 2k Team UP League will be All Created Players (Game permitting, if not NBA Teams)
Draft Combine:
Run through the draft combine and upload your player.
VBA Draft:
There will be a one week Workouts Period 10/6 - 10/11, where captains can run games (either vs AI or other people) and get a feel for how the prospects play and finalize their draft plans. You can sign your first 4 players before the draft, but you must draft the remaining players, up to 5 more as reserves.
Then we head to Playstation Home (Virtual Sportz Center Clubhouse) for the official VBA Draft that will be broadcast LIVE in the internet (VBA Channel on VSC-TV).
Pre-Season:
Following the draft there will be one week of 7 preseason games, after which, final rosters will be due (including depth charts). During this time you can waive players and pick up undrafted free agents. 1st and 2nd round draft picks automatically get a one season contract all other can get 1 month or Full season. All other unsigned players can continue playing in the D-League and try to get signed to a team by improving their stats or apply for the next draft. D-League players can also apply to be captains of future expansion teams. The First VBA 2k Season will have only 20 teams of 8 players Max (5 starters/3 reserves). Reserves can run with the D-League at the same time as being available for the regular VBA Squad. Once you are signed to a D-League Squad, you MUST play at least 10 games with that team to be signed by any team. 3 Reserves on the D-League squad are locked and can’t be signed to other teams. For instance, Lakers D-League team can lock 3 players as reserves for the Lakers VBA Squad, no other team can sign them, the remaining Lakers D-League players CAN be signed by other teams, provided they have played at least 10 games. Player signed from other D-League squads than you own, must be signed as, at least, Reserve Players, not just extras on YOUR D-League team.
Regular Season:
Regular season will be 56 games (4 game vs. each team in your conference and 2 games vs. each team in other conference). Top 8 teams from each conference advance to playoffs. Playoffs will run exactly like the NBA Playoffs. Winning team will receive Championship Trophies for all players (5 starters and 3 reserves) and possible cash prizes IF we pick up a sponsor, which we haven’t yet.
